Birds

June, 2022 - Ron Stokesbary

When my wife, Jan, and I went to put my fishing boat in the lake this year (later than usual), Jan heard some birds she recognized at the public access on Little Boy Lake. She is pretty good at identifying birds but she also has an app on her phone that will listen to bird calls and identify the bird. She uses the app to verify what she is hearing. She sat at the public access for 5-10 minutes after we had launched my boat and these are the birds she heard and verified with the bird app on her phone:

Gray Catbird

Baltimore Oriole

Common Yellowthroat

Veery

Yellow Warbler

Red-Eyed Vireo

Warbling Vireo

American Redstart

Chestnut Sided Warbler

She was pretty excited to hear so many different birds in such a short time at such a public location!

American Redstart
